A couple months ago I'd posted in this thread about a mini Kaya doll that I received in error after my rush of CODE orders. Customer service asked me to donate her to charity, so I sent her to a little girl battling cancer that I found on the Make a Child Smile website www.makeachildsmile.org.
Well, it took me awhile to actually get the doll shipped off to Christi...I decided that her little sister Shayla needed a doll too, so I found a NIB mini Josefina on eBay. Then I decided to send books to go with the dolls, so I ordered copies of Kaya and the River Girl and Again, Josefina! from Amazon. One of the books had a cut in the cover so I had to send it back...you get the idea.
Anyway, to bring this story full circle, I just wanted to update that I had a very sweet thank you note from Christi and Shayla's mom, written on a card that Christi had designed herself, waiting for me when I got home from my trip last week. Besides being very brave, Christi is also quite the little artist. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Well...that experience made me feel so good that I'm thinking about repeating it. There's an adorable three-year-old with leukemia named Danielle featured on the MACS site this month, and her mom mentioned that she has a Bitty Baby named Molly. I'm thinking maybe a Bitty outfit is in order for Danielle, and maybe Bitty Froggy or Bitty Puppy for her little brother? What do you guys think? [img]smile.gif[/img]
I think it was very sweet of you to send Mini Josefina and Kaya to those little girls.You have inspired me to send something to a nice little girl who is battling a disease. I think you should get Bitty Puppy for Danielle's brother. [img]smile.gif[/img]

You are so kind!! My son's Doctors are at Children's Hospital Boston. We go there a few times a year, and although many miracles occur there, it is also home to many heartbreaks.
It really makes you appreciate what and who you have in your life when you see the difficulties others have to endure.

Thanks for posting. When I read that her fav color was pink, I thought of Elizabeth.
I read the little angels section last time you posted and it was heart wrenching. I think your story is wonderful and I'm so glad you let us know that you heard back from her.
